Kieran O’Gorman arrived in Letterkenny in the late 1970s and made it his home. What began as a young solicitor joining a small local practice quickly turned into a lifelong commitment to the people and communities of Donegal.

Over the decades, Kieran built his reputation the way most good things in Donegal are built, through steady graft, straight talking, and showing up for people when they needed it most. He took over long-established practices on Port Road and Main Street, carrying forward their traditions while shaping his own. From District Court matters to High Court representation, he became known for his calm manner, sound judgement, and genuine care for his clients.

As the years went on, the firm grew, not into a large, faceless operation, but into a close-knit, highly capable team who work together with a shared purpose: to look after people properly. Many clients still describe us as “the office where everyone knows your name,” and that’s something we’re proud of.

For more than 25 years, Maresa Gallagher has been at the heart of the practice. Her experience, her steady hand, and her rapport with clients make her one of the most trusted Legal Executives in the county. As a Commissioner for Oaths, she has helped generations of families through important life moments — big and small.

Alongside her, Anne Foody brings over two decades of legal and public-facing experience, ensuring the office runs with the warmth, friendliness, and efficiency our clients value. Between them, they have helped shape the tone of the firm just as much as the law itself.

Today, the story of Kieran O’Gorman Solicitors moves into its next chapter, with Maggie Sheridan taking a leading role in carrying the practice forward. Maggie brings fresh energy, strong legal insight, and a commitment to maintaining the values that built this firm — honesty, clarity, and genuine care for every client who walks through our door. It is a natural handover: experience guiding the next generation, and the next generation building on that experience.

What has never changed — and what won’t — is the way we treat the people who come to us. We listen. We explain. We act quickly. And we stand by our clients from the first conversation to the final outcome.
